GRACE WAINAINA

Grace Wainaina is a remarkable young lady born and raised in Kenya and America after relocating at the tender age of eleven. She has been brought up in a Christian household by loving parents who have taught her the importance of upholding intrinsic values like faith, love, and kindness.

In the spirit of adventure, she likes travelling to enrich her understanding of the world.  She uses her blog site www.gracewainaina.com and other social media platforms to share her life experiences and spiritual beliefs in the form of written messages and songs. Grace is passionate about servant leadership and she has exemplified that by holding certain positions in academic clubs and in church. She served as President of FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) as a junior in high school. A student organization that aims to

help youths develop skills that will better prepare them to be responsible and

productive community members. During her tenure as president, she was selected to be a Keynote Speaker at a regional conference where she shared her academic journey. She also served as the President of National Honors Society as a high school senior where she helped ensure the success of community projects such as a Canned Food drive helping needy students access food and other necessities. As an active and dedicated church member, she has been elected for the role of Assistant Secretary and Assistant Youth Leader for four consecutive years.

With her Associate Degree in Business from Edmonds Community College, she will be transferring to a four-year university this fall to pursue a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance and Theology. The platform Grace is advocating for has special emphasis on the Kenyan girl child and the initiative is to confront the social, cultural and financial barriers that inhibit the pursuit of a quality education and occupational aspirations. She intends to use title of Miss Kenya USA Pageant to be an ambassador for this great cause by partnering with non-profit organizations that share this vision and have taken action to bring about desired change.
