VICTORIA WANGUI BIOGRAPHY

Having been partly brought up in Maasai land, Victoria has had a taste of what it’s like to grow up in an environment that favors the boy child in all aspects of life from education to the social life economically. This however did not crash her dream of being educated and living a different better life from the old traditional practices that would marry girls after they reached puberty. This early marriage inhibited the young married girls from growing like the boy child.

After she completed her secondary school studies, she developed a new interest in modeling. This became a stepping stone towards achieving her purpose of helping the less privileged girls who are unable to afford sanitary pads affecting their performance in school negatively.

Even though she didn’t have the opportunity to join a university in her country due to financial constraint, she got the chance of traveling to USA. The traveling came altogether with new and better opportunities for both her education and modeling career.

In USA, she pursued a certificate as a certified nurse assistant. Her niche for the medical industry didn’t stop there because she plans on furthering her studies and pursuing another course as an emergency medical technician which will boost her efficiency in her field of work.
Settling in USA is a bit challenging but that didn’t limit her from offering help to her former work mate who was left by her husband with two children .She took the initiative of taking one of her child and paying his school fees .She made a promise to him to pay his fees until he finishes his studies up to the highest level.

Amidst everything, Victoria did not forget her past experience as a girl in Maasai land. This experience eventually pushed her to approaching a lady who is one of the founder of I AM HESHIMA organization which has a program called ITS TIME. This program shares a common interest with Victoria of distributing sanitary pads and panties to the less privileged girls in Kenya .The lady was impressed with her great and deep interest and she gladly offered Victoria a chance to become an ambassador of the initiative.

Victoria strongly believes that through educating the girl child and providing her with the pads , she will not only help awaken the society’s ill view of educating girls but also it will have a repeal effect and grow the nation at large hence achieving the set vision 2030 .
Victoria believe that this new opportunity of participating in the Miss  Kenya USA pageant will expose her to new opportunities of continuing with her calling of helping the girl child , discovering her inner self and also promote her personal growth throughout her modeling life .
She also hopes to use this pageant to be a role model to young girls in Kenya.
