Purity Njenga is currently a student at Pierce Fort Steilacoom in Tacoma Washington. She is working to get her (AA) Associates degree in Science and plans to continue her studies at the University of Washington where she will complete her masters in Physical Therapy. She believes that her calling is to serve and to be the change in the lives of others to better the communities. She hopes to accomplish a lot with her platform. Her platform, “A giving hand to aid children”, is her big goal and vision for 2030. Her short term goal is to start a clothing drive within her community collecting clothes and shoes. Her long term goal is starting a small business that will do more than just donating but will give the children an education and home. Purity has been inspired to help orphanages back in Kenya by opening her own café that will support these children. This café will derive inspiration from the Kenyan culture. This café will raise funds and donations to help support children who are in need. Her decision to take part in this pageant was mainly because she wanted to do something different and to step out of her comfort zone. In 2016, she was selected to be in the National American Miss pageant but she didn’t have the money and the time to do so but now she’s ready to shine and to show people who she is. She wants to be more confident and wants to help empower other women to step out. “This generation and the posts we see on social media has really divided us as a whole. Women are afraid of showing themselves to the world. It’s important to be able to love and be proud of who we are”- purity
